NEWS UPDATE :: Feb, March, April, 2019 ::

On Thursday February 14th, Morris will be the featured performer at the Jam Session, Union Cantina, Southampton.

Morris will perform at Aaron Davis Hall City College in a tribute concert to Harry Belafonte, featuring alumnae of the Belafonte band and singers. Date: Friday March 1st 2019 at 7.30 pm. 

Morris will perform at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival on March 30th, 2019. He will be playing his original music, accompanied by the Cameron Ward Ensemble.

On April 27th 2019, Morris will be the musical Director for the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth, sponsored by his four childrens foundations

Featured singers are Sibongile Kumalo and Vusi Mahlasela.
The band consists of Morris Goldberg sax and penny whistle, Bakithi Kumalo bass, David Bravo kybds, Rodney Harris drums, Mongezi Ntaka guitar, Diego Urcola trumpet

The OJOYO sound is Safrojazz, a combination of South African and American music. Cape Town born Morris Goldberg combined the sounds of his Township heritage, with the American music he learned to love. Morris, "Mo Gee", has also performed with many American artists, notably, Paul Simon, Harry Belafonte and Herbie Hancock; and South African artists including Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, and Jonathan Butler.
