NEWS UPDATE :: June 2010 ::

On Tuesday June 22nd Morris will be performing with Tsidii LeLoka at the City Winery 155 Varick Street NY NY 10013 at 7.30 p.m.

On Saturday June 26th Morris will perform with Anton Fig, Tony Cedras, and Ramon de Bruyn at the Fort Greene Festival on de Kalb Avenue in Brooklyn. Later that evening they will move to Madiba restaurant to perform. Christine will be a guest artist at both venues.

NEWS UPDATE :: May 2010 ::

On April 12th Morris contracted sixteen singers to record music with a full orchestra for ESPN's World Cup program on television. You can catch it on ESPN during their commercial breaks.

On May 5th Morris performed at the Power Station in Battersea Park London with Hugh Masekela. The event was a fund raiser for the Ubuntu Education Foundation.

You will find Morris at SOB's New York on Sunday May 16th. He will be performing with Christine Vaindirlis in honor of the World Cup.

On July 17th Morris will once again give a concert at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons. The concert will feature Nina Hennessey, Tsidii LeLoka, Shunna Pillay, Anton Fig, Emanuel Gatewood and others. Admission is free

NEWS UPDATE :: July 2009 ::

On Friday July 24th Morris will be performing with South African singer songwriter Sid Kitchen. The show will take place at Joe's Pub in Greenwich Village. Also appearing: Anton Fig- drums, Bakithi Kumalo- bass, Tony Cedras- keyboards, Keith Lenten- Guitar. Joe's Pub is located at Lafayette street in the Village. Directions

Ojoyo will be performing in concert at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons, 44 Woods Lane East Hampton 11937 on Saturday July 18th at 8 p.m. The Ojoyo group consists of Anton Fig drums, Chulo Gatewood bass, David Bravo keyboards and Morris Goldberg sax, clarinet and pennywhistle. We will feature two singers:- Tsidii Leloka(Lion King) and Nina Hennessey(Cats and more, plus Bye Bye Birdie in the Fall). There will also be a surprise guest! The concert is FREE, so do come early.

NEWS UPDATE :: April 2009 ::

Morris will be performing with Hugh Masekela at the following venues:-
April 17th Club Zanzibar in Washington D.C. April 18th Artists Collective Hartford Conn. April 24th San Francisco Jazz Festival, April 25th Houston International Jazz Festival, April 26th New Orleans Jazz Festival. April 28th Benefit dinner and performance for Ubuntu Education Foundation, New York City.

NEWS UPDATE :: October 2008 ::

On July 19th Morris presented a concert of wide ranging music at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons in East Hampton. The concert featured Kaissa and Nina Hennessey on vocals, Anton Fig drums, Chulo Gatewood bass, David Bravo keyboard, Morris on clarinet,saxophone and pennywhistle. We performed original music, songs from Broadway, songs made popular by Miriam Makeba and secular and religious songs. The concert was enthusiastically received.

From July 23rd until August 12th Morris went on tour with Hugh Masekela, performing at the premier jazz clubs on the west coast. It was hugely successful. A listing is posted.

The next project was something new for Morris. He contracted and performed with a band for Lebo Morake, known as LeboM. Lebo wrote all the African music for the Broadway hit "The Lion King". The project involved a seven piece band plus four backup singers, with Lebo singing lead vocals. The concert in Virginia was a huge success, and there will be more of those in the future.

NEWS UPDATE :: April 2008 ::

On April 27th Morris will play at Madiba restaurant in honor of South African Freedom Day. On Saturday July 19th Morris will perform at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons in a concert of music from Broadway to Soweto, from Cape Town to Cameroon, featuring Kaissa, Nina Hennessey, Anton Fig, Tony Cedras and Chulo Gatewood. The show, at 44 Woods Lane in East Hampton, starts at 8 p.m.

NEWS UPDATE :: February 2008 ::

Morris will be performing with Hugh Masekela in Hawaii on Feb 27, 28 and March 1st. Three concerts on three islands. On April 9th to 13th Morris will perform with Hugh Masekela at Brooklyn Academy of Music (5 days), as part of Paul Simon's retrospective. Tony Cedras keyboard, Ian Herman drums and Fana Zulu bass will participate as well. The rest of april will consist of touring the country. An itinerary will be posted soon.

In the summer Morris and Ojoyo will once again concertize at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons. Featured are:- Tony Cedras keyboard, Anton Fig drums, Chulo Gatewood bass, from Cameroon, Kaissa vocals, from Broadway ( Cats etc) Nina Hennessey vocals. The group will perform Ojoyo originals, Hebrew songs, plus songs made popular by Miriam Makeba, plus songs from Broadway. "From Cameroon to Cape Town, from Tel Aviv to Times Square, from Soweto to Soho" The date is July 19th, Saturday at 8 p.m.

NEWS UPDATE :: January 2008 ::

Morris and Tony Cedras played a lunch hour concert at Waubonsee Community College in Aurora, just outside of Chicago, on October 25th. On October 26th, Ojoyo, which included Morris, Tony, Ian Herman on drums and Chulo Gatewood on bass, played a concert at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth Minn. The show was well received. On Tuesday November 13th, Ojoyo played for the Acumen Foundation Gala at Bridgewaters in New York City. About 450 people attended this private function. Morris, Tony, Anton Fig and Bakithi Kumalo will play a holiday concert on Sunday Dec. 9th at Madiba retaurant in Brooklyn. This will be their last appearance for 2007. Happy and healthy New Year everyone.

Morris will be embarking on a 3 month tour with Hugh Masekela beginning July 13th. Hugh Masekela's distinct musical signature is much in evidence throughout a four-decade recording career that spans everything from jazz and pop to r & b and dance music.

Morris Goldberg performed at New York City Center with Hugh Masekela and ensemble. The concert was presented by National Geographic Traveler and the South African Tourism Board.

In September 2005 Morris took part in the filming of The Good Shepherd, a film
directed by Robert DeNiro, starring Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon. He was a
member of the band, playing the saxophone.
